It Is Time to Go Solar

By going solar, you'll be saving time, saving money, and most importantly - saving our planet.

Why Go Solar?

Better for the Environment

Photovoltaic (PV) panels are a clean, renewable energy source that can help reduce reliance on fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. PV panels generate electricity, using a process called the photovoltaic effect. This process produces no emissions or pollution making PV panels a clean and enviromentally-friendly source of electricity.

Cost Cutting

Generating electricity from PV panels can offset the cost of purchasing electricity from the grid. Any excess electricity that is generated is credited to the individual or business's account.

Increased Home Value

Installing photovoltaic (PV) panels on your home can not only save you money on your energy bills, but it can also increase the value of your property. Recent studies found that homes with solar panels sold for an average of 4.1% more than comparable homes without solar panels. In addition to financial benefits, solar power also makes your home more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Low Maintenance

Photovoltaic (PV) panels have a relatively low maintenance cost, which can help reduce long-term costs. PV panels do not have moving parts and require minimal maintenance, such as cleaning and checking for loose connections.

How Solar Works?

Solar energy works by using PV panels to convert energy from the sun into electricity. The PV panels are made up of photovoltaic cells, which are made of semiconductor materials such as silicon. When sunlight strikes the cells, it causes a flow of electrons, which generates electricity.

A PV panel is made up of many individual cells that are connected together in a circuit. The electricity generated by the cells is in the form of direct current (DC) electricity, which is not compatible with the alternating current (AC). So, an inverter is used to convert the DC electricity into AC electricity that can be used to power lights, appliances and other equipment.

The process of converting solar energy into electricity is relatively simple and efficient. With the steady decrease in the cost of PV panels and the increasing efficiency of the technology, solar energy is becoming a increasingly popular and cost-effective alternative to traditional sources of electricity.

Paperwork & Agreement

In order to participate in the Net metering or Net billing scheme , a homeowner or business must first apply for net metering with their electricity provider (EAC). The application process typically involves the submission of various documents, including:

  • a copy of the building permit

  • a copy of topographical plan of the plot

  • last 12-month energy consumption

  • Signed certificate of use as a residential unit

  • Consent of owners if more than one

  • If communal roof authorization from the other

Once the application is approved EAC will send a net metering agreement to the homeowner or business. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of the net metering program, including the specific details of the billing process and any limitations on the amount of energy that can be sent back to the grid.
